EPISODE-4

THE NEXT DAY,

                        Here’s the interesting part of my life. The next day I got into my college bus as usual. I and Hema used to sit nearby only. So that we can chit-chat all stories and gossips throughout the traveling time.

                        I began to share with her about that previous day’s incidents completely. I used to be always transparent to Hema. After the previous day’s happenings, our bus entered the college premises. Hema was in deep shock. She didn’t even blink her eyes. She was staring at me like what's going on and if it was me going through all this?

            I began blushing. We entered our classroom. She was still in shock. My other bestie didn’t show up that day.

GOT MY SCULPTOR:

                        After that event, I was unable to see him at college. But every evening my eyes were used to search for him while on the way walking towards our college bus. A week had passed like that. One fine evening, I and my friends were going to our bus. On the way, I suddenly saw a familiar face with a shoulder bag and a black blazer in his hand.

                        I was just stunned and was trying to confirm the figure. Yes. That’s the same man. I smiled at him with large eyes. He was too stunned and seeing me with a charming smile. Hema was walking behind me so she asked, “What happened? Why did you just stopped and smiling like this?” I just screamed as “Naveen! Naveen! Naveen is the one who is standing over there!!!” Due to the day-end crowd, I lost him.

                            After that evening, for around 3 months I didn’t see him. During this gap, I got my first mobile on Diwali day. I was so happy and excited. The very first reason for my happiness was “I can speak to him now”. But I didn’t have his mobile number at that time. Also, I didn’t have any idea that how I would get his number.

23 DEC, 2016:

                        23 Dec 2016 was my classmate’s birthday. Our friends decided to make a small party at a park near our area for the birthday baby. While getting ready for the party around 7:30 PM, I suddenly got an idea to get his number. We girls had a common friend from the mechanical department. Since he was Naveen's classmate and he is a senior to us, we used to call him anna as well. His name is also Naveen. He was literally a brother figure for me. Such a carrying person.

                    Friends, to be frank you may come across many Naveen’s in this series but it’s completely coincidental. So I texted him asking for Naveen’s mobile number. He quickly replied to me with his mobile number asking the purpose? I told him, "I would like to collect photos taken during the event". I didn’t tell him about my feelings for Naveen at that time.

                          But, Since he was a common friend for us, he asked Hema about Naveen and got the information. I got to know about that after a long time only. Alright, Now once I got Naveen's mobile number from him, I immediately saved his number and checked his Whatsapp profile picture, as we all usually do. It was a cute puppy picture.

                          Once I did all that, I asked Hema that, “Should I send a message to him? Will it be inappropriate? Will he respond to me?”. She brushed into laughter and said, “Yes. You have to. You collected his number to speak with him only right? Then do it.”

                            I said alright, and texted him with nervous hands as “Hi, Naveen Anna. This is Poorni. How are you?” and waited for his reply for around 10 minutes. Since we were getting late for the birthday party, I turned off my mobile and kept it aside. We went to the party. To be honest, that’s was our first birthday party celebration in our 3 years of college days. So we enjoyed ourselves a lot. That was a quite memorable day for us.

                                    After the party, we all returned to our homes. I took my mobile around 10.00 PM when I got ready to sleep. Once I turned on my mobile network, I smiled deeply and saw the notification about Naveen Lal’s reply. He replied, “Hi Poorni. I am good. Don’t call me anna. How are you? Sorry, da. I am at my aunt’s School anniversary event. I will text you later”. I replied “No issues. Take care. Good night. Bye.”

                                The next day, I shared this all with Hema on the bus. On the same day night, I asked him about the photos that we had taken in our practicing hall during the event. Finally, He sent me the photos. I was so happy to see all of them.  Most of the pictures were reflecting our facial expressions romantically.

                               That’s how conversations began  between us day by day.
